Valtteri Bottas replaces Nico Rosberg.

17.01.2017

Valterri Bottas has today been announced as Nico Rosberg's replacement at Mercedes-AMG Petronas. The Finnish Formula One driver has made it quite clear that he has no intention of playing second fiddle to team mate Lewis Hamilton and has indicated he will give it his all, with the intention of winning the 2017 Formula One Championship.
While the 27-year-old was under contract with Williams Motors for the upcoming Formula One Season, his contract was more malleable than many other drivers due to the fact that Mercedes supplies Williams' powertrains and AMG F1 boss Toto Wolff is also a part of Bottas' Management Team.
During his five-year career, Bottas has competed in 77 races, finishing on the podium nine times but never in first place.
The 2017 Formula One season kicks off in Melbourne on the 26th March.
