2016 Mercedes-Benz Brisbane Drive Day

Mercedes-Benz Brisbane was thrilled to welcome customers and friends of the brand to their annual Drive Day at Mount Cotton's Training Centre this past week.
With two sessions lasting approximately four hours each, the day commenced with a thorough briefing on the latest and greatest Mercedes-Benz vehicles and their technologies. The Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy has assembled an expert group of experienced drivers, all of whom have held some kind of racing qualification, and many of whom are current or previous Formula 3 racers.
Following the theoretical briefing, guests were then invited to participate in three different activities, including the skid pan, motorcana courses and of course the testing of various vehicles. In each of these areas, the team from the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy demonstrated various features, including the ABS and BAS braking systems, Pre-safe Plus and Active Lane Keeping Assist, Collision Prevention Assist, DISTRONIC PLUS and more. Guests were then encouraged to test these features themselves.
Additionally, the Driving Academy taught the ins and outs of modern motor vehicle technology, as well as how to recognise risks and avoid dangers while driving. Accompanied by an instructor, each driver was taught how to recognise loss of control on the road, stopping distances relevant to driving conditions, handle critical driving situations, practise avoidance techniques and most importantly how to utlise the emergency braking system.
Special thanks must go to our Brand Ambassadors Sofie Formica and Alastair Lynch for taking time out of their busy schedules to join in on the day and to get to know our customers.
